A PDF version of the school planner can be
downloaded
here, or you
can select it from the navigation bar at the top of the page. It will
show all the relevant pages in the planner concerned with day to day
routines and important information. |
| |
| It cannot be stressed enough how
important is the student planner. It is the best method of
communication between the school and the parent/carer. Please go
through it carefully. Additional copies are available to
parents/carers from the school. |

| Special
Educational Needs |
| |
| Moreton School has a whole school
approach to Special Educational Needs. |
| |
|
The Ofsted Report in
March 2007 stated:
“Good progress is
made by students with a wide range of learning difficulties.” |
| |
| The Support for Learning Faculty seeks
to ensure that the school responds appropriately to Special Needs
wherever they arise. Some students need extra support in class
while others need to be withdrawn for some of their work. The
school receives extra funding from the Local Authority for SEN and
employs extra staff to encourage and assist achievement in these areas. |
| |
| The school has additional resources for
some statemented students (MLD and EBD). |
| |
|
Religious Education |
| |
| Religious Education is taught to all
students as a separate subject to all students in years 7, 8 & 9.
It is taught using the guidelines of the Wolverhampton Local Authority
Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE).
Parents/carers have the right to withdraw students from these lessons
and alternative provision will be provided. Please contact the
school for further information. |
| |
| Students attend assemblies on a regular
basis and during tutor time there are opportunities for reflection on
issues. If any parent/carer requires further information, please
contact the school. |
| |
| Post 16 Education |
| |
| Moreton
School has a Post 16 provision of over 100 students studying a wide
range of courses at different examination levels. A Post 16
Prospectus is available from the school. In addition,
Moreton School is part of the North-East Partnership of 5 secondary
schools. This provides students with the opportunity to access a
wider range of subjects. The Partnership Prospectus is available
from the school. |
| |
| In 2006 61% of Y11 students continued
their education in the Moreton Post 16 provision. Increasing
